J. David Robertson is Professor of Chemistry at the University of
Missouri-Columbia (MU), Program Director of the Analytical Chemistry Group at the University of Missouri
Research Reactor (MURR) and Associate Director of MURR Research and Education. He received his BS
degree in chemistry from MU in 1982 and his PhD in nuclear chemistry from the University of Maryland
at College Park in 1986. After two years of postdoctoral research at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory,
Dr. Robertson in 1989 was hired into the chemistry faculty at the University of Kentucky. He joined MU in 2000.
Dr. Robertson's research interests are focused on the development of radionuclear methods of analysis and the
subsequent application of these techniques to fundamental problems in a variety of areas, including
Alzheimer’s disease and potential health impacts of fine airborne particulate. Dr. Robertson has
published over 100 research articles and has appeared as an expert witness in analytical chemistry
both in the United States and Canada. He is currently a member of the editorial boards of the Journal
of Trace and Microprobe Analysis and the Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry.
