MURR'S Analytical Chemistry Staff —Spectrometry

Barry Higgins is a spectrometrist with the Analytical Chemistry Group at the University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR). He received his BS degree in Environmental Analytical Chemistry at the University of Plymouth in England in 1997. He then went to work for Micromass, one of the leading manufacturers of Mass Spectrometers, where he specialized in Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry. During his three years with Micromass he traveled the world, troubleshooting and hosting training courses for Engineers and ICP-MS users.

Mr. Higgins was attracted to MURR in 2000 to manage and develop our Ultra Trace analytical laboratory. At this post, he maintains and improves the analytical instruments and works on new and existing analytical methodologies. Since joining MURR he has been the co-author of several research papers.
